THE HOMECOMING

The return to our garage begins at my buddy's secret hill country bunker in Cypress Mills, just outside of Austin.  I've had one of my hobby cars, a Ford Model T coupe, stashed for six years.
Wheeling the car into position to be put on the flatbed, we removed the skates.

The engine and Turbo 400 Trans came from a '66 Buick. The frame is a Mercury Charlie "Zee Frame" and the rea rend was made to order form John's Industries. Mercury Charlie was well into fabricating the floorboards when progress halted.

The Wheels and tries were chosen to reflect an early sixties aesthetic and to come from the Herman Munster school of hot rodding. If I had to site a couple of references, Mercury Charlie's T would be high on my list. Which is why he has done much of the work to date on this car.

Someday, this sucker will be back on the road with the name "Lily".

Next stop, home sweet home. No longer out of sight or mind.
